Thank you!

A heartfelt thank‑you to Joy and Terry, Christine and Paul, Amanda, Jean, and Maria Britto — each of you played an important part in making our Summer Social a true success. And a special thank‑you to Cecil, who devoted two full days to cooking and smoking the meat. Your hard work and dedication were deeply appreciated.

Some of our members are so good at flower arranging they get asked to do arrangements for some pretty special occasions. Maria Britto made this gorgeous arrangement for the 75th birthday of her friend Karl. What flower arrangements have you made? If you've created an arrangement for friends or family, please send us a picture. We want to inspire more members to create arrangements.

Thank you!

Marci Hayward, who is one of our members, arranged for a donation of mulch through her boss Peter Connors, Walker Industries, Grow- Bark division. She delivered the mulch herself to McMillan Park using her husband's truck. We are grateful to Mr. Connor's, Marci and her husband, and all the wonderful volunteers who came out to help spread the mulch on the park. Because we had many hands it took less than an hour. Great job!

Herbs: Growing & Uses

Joanne Howe, and her sister Teresa, did a fantastic job discussing the use of herbs in cooking and baking. They brought several samples of herbed butters, some herbed goat cheese and decorated with fresh flowers, and a cake made with olive oil and rosemary. That was just delicious.

Mildred McAlpine was a long-term Erin Garden Club member who loved the club so much that she asked people to donate to the club in lieu of flowers when she passed away in 2024. Many people did donate and we decided to take that money and plant a tree in her honour. On Saturday, May 10th at 2:00 p.m. in Carberry Park we did a dedication of her maple tree. In attendance from her family was her husband Ross, her son Wes and his wife Irene as well as her daughter Karen and her husband Scott. From the club was Louise McKenzie and her husband Ken who had known Mildred for close to 50 years. Even before she joined the Garden Club! Melanie Glisinski who always brought Mildred to club meetings and brought along a picture of the two of them doing a Halloween event that they put on every year. Also in attendance from the club were Dawn Roberts, Margaret Barnstaple, Jen Edwards and Jackie Clark. Town councilor John Brennan also attended to represent the town which has allowed us to use the park for this tree planting. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Mildred would have been very pleased!
